Is there a difference between Manatee and Charlotte county reciprocal borrowers program? Can Charlotte County residents with a reciprocal card
Yes, Manatee and Charlotte County residents are covered by different reciprocal borrowing agreements.
The current reciprocal borrowing agreement in place with Charlotte County Library allows Charlotte County residents to receive a Sarasota County Library card when they present their Charlotte County library card and one form of identification with their current address. The Sarasota County Library card they receive includes access to the library's databases and to download ebooks.
Manatee County Library cardholders are given access to Sarasota County Library's physical collections with a different reciprocal agreement through the Tampa Bay Library Consortium. That agreement allows Manatee County Library cardholders to use their home library card with a reciprocal borrowing sticker attached to check out materials free of charge from the Sarasota County Library. However, at this time the reciprocal borrowing privileges do not extend to our ebook and database collections.
