Every time I log into my account I have to type in my very Long acct number. Is there a way to allow the system to save it instead?
Your brower has settings that allows it to autocomplete forms and to remember passwords. Remembering your card number or PIN is not a function of our catalog software.
For Internet Explorer, see setting IE to fill in website forms and passwords automatically. This link is for IE 10. If you have a different version of IE, use the drop-down on the right to change the instructions for the version that you have. You may also want to try IE in compatibility view.
For Firefox, see Firefox autocomplete instructions.
For Chrome, see Google's autofill forms instructions.
For Safari on Mac, try this video about autofill instructions.
For Safari on Apple mobile devices, including iPad:
- Tap Settings on the home screen.
- Select Safari.
- Select AutoFill.
- Set "Names and Passwords" to On. After doing this, the next time you are asked to type in your library card, be sure to check the "remember me on this device."
Finally, plug-in toolbars, such as the Google Toolbar, have autofill features. See Google Toolbar's autofill. Open-source browsers, such as Firefox, also have plug-ins to support autofill.
